THE SHEEHAN TRACK & FIELD COMPLEX

Track & Field was the first sport at Christian Brothers Academy, launched by Dr. George Sheehan—a founder of the school and legend of running literature. CBA’s Track & Field teams have grown to become a nationally-recognized program.

The track, both surface and base, is in need of an upgrade. The discus and javelin outfields are not regulation dimensions. Not addressing these conditions may soon disallow the Academy from hosting regular season competitions.

We plan to construct a new Track & Field facility, located behind the existing baseball field, estimated to cost $1.2 million. The new venue will feature an 8-lane track that incorporates a natural grass infield and the most up-to-date safety and performance technology. It will provide enhanced spectator viewing, including accessible bleachers. A new scoreboard, sound system and equipment shed will complete the facility.

In 2019, Outdoor Track & Field extended its state record by winning the program’s 23rd state championship and were national champions in the 4xMile event at the 2019 New Balance Outdoor Nationals.
